New Year’s Eve 2024

Hello auld friends and new!

It’s NYE, and it’s been nearly nine years since I first started this blog. Whew.

If this is your first time here, you likely heard about this blog because of [this post] chronicling my first 30 days sober. If you’re considering participating in Dry January tomorrow, it’s quite a ride, but worth every single moment of itchiness and uncertainty and boredom and fear. Really, really worth it.

I’m still (happily) sober, still (happily) done with diets and diet-culture, and my husband, two doggies and I just moved to a little house right on Puget Sound. It’s heaven.

We still own a bookstore (where my husband works), and I still have a pretty good full-time work-from-home job in ad tech. So much goodness, most of which wasn’t wished-for or planned, so I’m truly grateful all these new opportunities presented themselves (mainly the job, the extra doggie, and the new house) these last couple of years.

Following up on my most recent posts: I’ve dialed back the CrossFit classes recently because I injured my shoulder (and truth be told, the original owner/coach sold the business to a new guy who is nice but… not as inspiring for me). I’m on the hunt for another regular exercise routine because I’ve grown to (ack) like it. Stay tuned on that.

Happy New Year! Here’s to a magical 2025.
